Regarding a case of novel coronavirus infection
related to Bupa employee in Hong Kong
The health and safety of our people and our customers are our absolute priority.
On the afternoon of Friday 14 February we were informed that one of our employees who works at our office in Berkshire House, Quarry Bay, was identified as having a confirmed case of novel coronavirus. We are supporting our staff member and their family directly. We are also working closely with the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) in the management of this case. CHP are leading the official contact tracing process. All colleagues identified as close contacts have been contacted by CHP. All our employees who have had precautionary testing have had negative results.
We were told late on Thursday 13 February that there may be a case, and so as a precaution, we closed our offices last night. We have advised all our people based in that office to work from home, starting today. Many have been working remotely for some time already. Our people have access to medical advice and support services for their physical and mental health.
